The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Smith County announced it will continue its 2017 East Texas Garden Lecture Series at 9 a.m. Saturday at Blue Moon Gardens, in Edom, with Blue Moon co-owner Mary Wilhite presenting “From Garden to Vase.”
Ms. Wilhite says growing cut flowers is easy with the right conditions, and will share information about flowers that offer the longest-lasting and most fragrant bouquets. In addition to how to grow them, Mary will provide tips on cutting and conditioning flowers so that they will last longer.
After the talk, guided tours of the garden will be provided.
Lecture registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the program will start at 9 a.m. Tickets are $15 per person and may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Smith County AgriLife Extension office in the Cotton Belt Building, 1517 W. Front St., Suite 116, in Tyler.
The lecture series is a collaborative effort between the Smith County AgriLife Extension Environmental Education Horticulture Committee, the Smith County Master Gardeners and the city of Tyler water department.
